Modern Pankration Seminars

GUIDELINES

• Seminars should be scheduled at least two (2) months in advance to allow for maximum promotion
• Seminars are to be either one or two days on weekends. The minimum time requirement is six (6) hours and the maximum time is ten (10) hours
• A 25% deposit is required 30 days prior to the event for all seminars in the U.S. and Canada (50% in foreign countires). The balance is payable in cash or by check on the day of the seminar.
• All those of those attending the seminar must pay in full at the door or in advance. No instruction will be conducted without payment. Spectators will be charged half the training fee since a certain degree of learning is possible just by observing.
• UPA tee shirts and training media must be preordered by sponsor. Please refer to our listing of merchandise for pricing.
• UPA membership application forms and merchandise order forms will also be available at the seminar or can be purchased in advance by mail.
• Cameras and video equipment will be allowed under the following conditions:
  

  1)	A set of photos will be sent to Jim Arvanitis
  2)	No photos of Mr. Arvanitis may be used for any purpose without written consent.
  3)	Immediately following the taping, the original will be given to Mr. Arvanitis in a self-addressed, padded envelope. A copy will be made and sent to the camera owner with the agreement that the video footage will NOT be sold or distributed to anyone!! Otherwise, taping the event will not be allowed.

• Any necessary training equipment must be provided by the seminar sponsor/promoter.

SEMINAR FEES

• NORTH AMERICA: The standard fee for seminars in the United States and Canada is $1000.00 (6 hours/one day) or $1,500.00 (10 hours/2 days). All expenses will also be covered by the sponsor/promoter. A 25% deposit is required 30 days prior to the date that the seminar is scheduled with the balance paid being in cash or money order prior to the first seminar.
• FOREIGN COUNTRIES: A minimum overall fee of $2,500.00 (Two Thousand Five Hundred American Dollars) must be guarunteed for any time spent conducting seminars in a foreign country, plus expenses. A 50% deposit is required 30 days prior to the date that the seminar is scheduled with the balance paid in U.S. currency prior to the first seminar.

EXPENSES (payable by Seminar promoter/sponsor):

• TRAVEL (Airfare Round Trip)
• LODGING (each night of trip): A clean, non-smoking room is preferred
• FOOD (includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner)

SEMINAR ARRANGEMENTS

• Alternate dates should be available in case your first choice is taken. Seminars should be arranged at least two (2) months in advance for proper marketing of the event.
• All arrangements are to be confirmed and plane tickets must be sent at least two weeks in advance of the seminar date.
• Attendance certificates will be awarded to all participants (not observers).
• All advertising materials designed by the sponsor (flyers, brochures, etc.) must be approved by kerios Arvanitis before using. If preferred, Mr. Arvanitis will design a proper marketing brochure and flyer for a fee of $50.00. The sponsor must furnish details such as dates, times, attendance fees, preferred payment method and locations.
• There is no reason why a sponsor/promotor shoudl not make a profit from a seminar. However, all fees and expenses MUST be paid NO MATTER WHAT!!!

OTHER ARRANGEMENTS

• In many cases, an assistant trainer will be required to participate and is expected to have all expenses covered by the promoter/sponsor (airfare, lodging, and food).

SEMINAR CANCELLATION

• At least one month is required to cancel a seminar once it has been scheduled.
• If a seminar is cancelled, there is a cancellation fee of $250.00. This fee is payable immediately upon cancellation. Kerios Arvanitis must be compensated in some way for this loss since he could have been teaching somewhere else on this date.
• If a seminar is cancelled and the fee is not paid, then UPA membership will be terminated and you will not be allowed another opportunity to sponsor a seminar.
